Classic Meat Ball Recipe

This recipe uses our *Spice*On Mince -


  • 250g, best quality beef mince

  • 250g, best quality pork mince

  • 2 x Tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

  • 1 x Egg

  • 6 x Teaspoons Spice Roads, Classic Meat Ball Spice Blend

  • 1 x Brown onion

  • 3 x Anchovy fillets – refer comment

  • Olive oil

  • 3 x Tablespoons tomato puree

Important: Sea salt and black pepper are already part of the Spice Blend.

Comments: The recipe would work just as well with 100% meat or pork. A nice addition to this recipe is a buttered potato and kumera mash. Ultimate Home "warm" yummieness !

The anchovy fillets are optional. They are not readily apparent in the meat balls but give a nice background flavour.


In a bowl thoroughly mix all the ingredients including the Classic Meat Ball Blend and shape into small balls

Refrigerate for approx ½ hour then pan fry in the olive oil until firm to touch.

Beautifully simple - a true classic !
