The Art of Flavour

Allspice - Whole

Use and Background Please advise if you would like this Spice toasted and ground. Done on the day of despatch.

Allspice is a true native of Jamaica, originally discovered by Columbus who declared it a pepper. It was then renamed by the English as Allspice for its similarity to Cloves, Cinnamon and Nutmeg.

Allspice in the kitchen is very much part of Spice Road Spices Jamaican Seasoning Blend and individually is especially good with stewed fruit and sauerkraut and pickled dishes.

And Allspice compliments chicken beautifully with its warm flavour and the richness of Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Cloves.

Ginger and Rosemary pair well with Allspice..

Important: Allspice loses its flavour when ground faster than most other Spices. Accordingly Spice Road Spices will grind your Allspice on the day of shipping for maximum freshness.
