Blended Chilli Natural Seasoning with Ground Beef and Black Beans
800g x Best ground beef (minced)
1 x Large brown onion - diced
1 x Medium red pepper (capsicum) - sliced into strips
2 x Medium carrots - finely diced
2 x Garlic cloves
2 x Tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 x Cup red wine
2 x Cups best home made style chicken stock
4 x Teaspoons Spice Road Chilli Spiced Powder
1 x Tin Italian diced tomatoes
2 x Cups cooked black beans - fully drained
1/4 x Teaspoon Black Pepper
In a heavy based pan add a little olive oil and when hot add the onions, carrots, red pepper (capsicum) and garlic and fry down until caramelised.
Next add the tomato paste, stir into the onions then deglaze the pan with the red wine and add the chicken stock, pepper, chilli seasonings and the ground beef. Stir well to break up the beef then add the black beans and tomatoes and again stir well.
Cover the pan and on a gentle simmer cook for around one hour, stirring occasionally until the meat has fully cooked and the chilli spice flavours have been absorbed into the dish. Add chopped flat leaf parsley and serve with arborio rice.
Important: Best quality chicken stock is essential. Avoid the highly salted cardboard stock from the supermarkets.
